As Senior Vice President (SVP), Management Director you would be responsible for driving the strategy and plans for multiple brands. You would build and maintain effective client relationships and oversee talent development across the team. Acting as your senior client’s right hand and calling on your vast experience to provide proactive insights and solutions, you would be the leader within the organization and collaborate across departments, positioning your teams for success, with a hyper-focus on retention and growth of internal talent as well as your clients. As the SVP, you would set and obtain financial goals through organic growth and new business opportunities, and meet all metrics associated with this role.

Responsibilities

Brand Oversight
  • Oversee brand positioning, strategy, objectives, and tactical plans at the highest level
  • Lead brand strategy and maintain strong client satisfaction on assigned brands – ensure every brand you lead has a clear plan forward
  • Integrate a variety of background materials and information into meaningful strategies and proposals for clients
  • Provide strategic direction and approvals at significant steps of the creative process, including senior management reviews of key deliverables
  • Ensure high standards of execution and communication in all client work
  • Ensure account is staffed appropriately to meet client needs; ensure that the agency team remains strong across all departments and delivers excellence through creative and strategic solutions
  • Direct and interact with all agency brand team members to ensure accurate information exchange and smooth workflow across all stages of a project
Team Development
  • Build development plans for direct reports, and ensure that those that report to you are building similar reports for their teams
  • Focus on the specific development needs of select team members and establish appropriate training plans to ensure that goals are achieved
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses for account leads and their counterparts, and make recommendations for change
  • Advocate for team promotions with leadership and HR
  • Motivate account group team to ensure a high level of client satisfaction
  • Lead monthly account team meetings, including opportunities to educate, share knowledge, and inspire the full team
  • Mentor, coach, and develop direct reports by creating individual development plans and providing learning and growth experiences on the job
  • Ensure performance appraisals are completed for entire team
Agency Finances
  • Deliver accurate annual forecasts and monthly projections, while managing the agency bottom line across accounts
  • Set growth goals across accounts and collaborate with team members to identify new opportunities for meeting them
Business Development
  • Lead new business initiatives for both organic growth targets as well as new agency opportunities
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and reports, evaluate client research, and provide forward thinking and value-added ideas to influence client decision making and growth opportunities
Agency/Network Collaboration
  • Maintain a holistic look at agency growth and development, beyond single account assignments
  • Engage in agency planning efforts for monthly and yearly growth
  • Look to build and refine our agency offering in line with industry expectations and growth opportunities
  • Maintain an eye on competitor activities in order to ensure our competitive edge across the industry

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8-10 years of pharma marketing or agency experience
  • Previous experience managing 2 or 3 direct reports and multiple levels
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Solid strategic thinking skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across a multi-disciplinary brand team
  • Superior presentation skills

ACCOUNT SUPERVISOR New York, NY, US

The Account Supervisor oversees the tactical development and implementation of the brand while contributing to its strategic direction. This position moves beyond daily project management tasks and into strategic brand management. The Account Supervisor will also supervise, motivate, and mentor junior account team members.

Responsibilities

Primary Job
  • Understand the creative process and provide ideas for improving existing executions
  • Ability to see the big picture, identify key issues, and provide proactive tactical and strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrate mastery of brand category and competitive data, including key studies
  • Seek non-traditional solutions to marketing/marketplace problems
  • Develop and communicate strategic and/or tactical recommendations for the brand, based on internalized marketplace events, market research, etc.

Qualifications

College degree, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or science/medicine

  • 4 years agency or comparable experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to write basic documents (experience writing creative briefs strongly preferred)
  • Must demonstrate maturity to handle senior-level client contact
  • Understanding of business principles
  • Thorough knowledge of, and demonstrated depth of experience with, marketing/advertising
  • Ability to manage and train staff, including prioritization of creative hours
  • Professionalism must be maintained at all times as the candidate will be a representation of the agency’s image

SVP, GROUP COPY SUPERVISOR New York, NY, US

The SVP, Group Copy Supervisor is responsible for brainstorming ideas, developing concepts, and crafting brand-specific messaging across all channels. This position is a lead member of a cross-functional team, manages and mentors junior-level writers, and oversees the day-to-day workload. The SVP, Group Copy Supervisor supports the EVP, Creative Director in creating and maintaining the creative vision of MDash and all assigned account(s) while contributing to the strength of agency by nurturing relationships with clients through communication, interaction, and an exceptional work ethic.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to create novel and original work in a variety of mediums—print, digital, and beyond—for a variety of audiences, including both professional and patient
  • Develop a refined understanding of the brand, category, and overall marketplace
  • Mastery of the AMA Manual of Style; superior knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading symbols

  • Coordinate resources (staff and freelance), ensuring all deliverables are met

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in advertising industry
    • At least 4 years of copywriting experience in an agency setting is required
    • At least 2 years of pharmaceutical copywriting experience is required
  • Experience as a supervisor required
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in advertising, communications, or journalism, and/or coursework related to pharmaceutical advertising or life sciences is preferred (but not required)
  • Portfolio containing work samples that demonstrate strong conceptual abilities, creative thinking, and exceptional writing skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to receive and assimilate critical feedback
  • Ability to expertly think in abstract terms; can make connections between unrelated notions; can formulate innovative ideas where others cannot; seen as original and adding value in brainstorming sessions
  • Ability to multitask in a faced-paced environment while functioning as a member of a highly collaborative team
